The membership year begins on July 1.  Full members may participate in seminars, special programs and summer/winter programs (some of which may carry a cost) and various other activities throughout the year.  They  will receive all publications and are entitled to vote in annual elections, join a committee, and receive a membership card which provides borrowing privileges at the libraries of the five colleges and free transportation on the PVTA from one college to another.


LIR has four different types of membership with varying costs:

Trial Membership—one time only, spring or fall

All programs, but no voting rights, no first time priority.

Associate Membership—available only to former full-time members

Only Special Programs, mailings, publications, and committees.


Membership Assistance Fund:  The Membership Assistance Fund makes LIR membership available to everyone.  It is funded by generous donations from fellow members.

If a person wishes to join 5CLIR as a full member after all spring seminars are closed, they may pay the dues for the following year and enjoy all benefits immediately and through the following year.

If a person wishes to join 5CLIR after the fall seminars are closed, they may pay for the spring semester and enjoy all the benefits until July 1st, when the new membership year begins.
